Granite VNA to Honor Helen Rautenberg at Annual Passion for Caring Event
Granite VNA will honor Helen Rautenberg, Family Support Specialist, with the Kay Sidway Award at the agency's annual Passion for Caring event.
The Kay Sidway Award recognizes an individual who has devoted themselves to the education, nurturing, and well-being of families in the Central New Hampshire region.
“Our annual Kay Sidway Award is presented to the individual who shares an endless love and commitment to the community they serve – and Helen embodies so many of these characteristics,” said Beth Slepian, President and CEO. “As a family support specialist with our Healthy Families America program, Helen builds trusting relationships with parents who have children up to three years of age in need of support and education to further their parenting skills. Her work is tireless and her impact is far-reaching and long-lasting.”
The Kay Sidway Award was initially presented in 1998 to long-time Concord-area educator Kay Sidway to honor her extraordinary dedication to the children of the Concord community. Rautenberg joins an impressive group of award recipients that include the late New Hampshire State Representative Mary Stuart Gile, Amanda Grady Sexton, and The Honorable Kathleen McGuire.
“During her many years of working with families, Helen has made an impact on hundreds of lives,” added Jennifer Brechtel, Community Benefit Manager. “In one instance, Helen worked with a mother who had minimal family support and lacked secure housing. Through her work, Helen supported this mother in receiving necessary prenatal care, housing, and was able to attend classes to further her education. Since working with Helen, this mother finished school, earned her degree, has a full-time job, and owns her own home in the area. Helen gave her the support she needed to help her succeed.”
Granite VNA’s Passion for Caring event will be in-person this year at a new location in the Lakes Region. The fundraiser will be held at Belknap Mill in Laconia on Wednesday, May 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
In addition to the presentation, there will be hors d’oeuvres and refreshments as well as a silent auction. Attendees can bid on auction items such as Boston Red Sox tickets, a luxurious stay at The Centennial Hotel with a gift certificate to Granite Restaurant & Bar, and unique experiences including Ziptour tickets at Gunstock Mountain Resort and a Mount Washington narrated cruise. We also have golf for four people at Lake Sunapee Country Club, jewelry from Indigo Blues, and much more.
