Granite VNA Names Ava King-Byrne, DNP, NP-C, Chief Clinical Officer
Granite VNA has named Ava King-Byrne, DNP, NP-C, Chief Clinical Officer. In this role, King-Byrne will oversee hospice, palliative, quality, and education programs, and to support agency strategic initiatives and operations alongside the senior leadership team.
“We are pleased to welcome Ava to the Granite VNA team,” said Beth Slepian, MBA, PT, President/CEO of Granite VNA. “Her considerable clinical background, as well as experiences and perspectives gained through working with a broad range of organizations and communities will be invaluable to our organizations and to our patients.”
King-Byrne brings nearly 22 years of extensive clinical and operational management experience in palliative care, hospice, and geriatrics to Granite VNA. She has held many leadership positions at health systems throughout the country, including organizations in Atlanta; Phoenix; and Nashville, Tennessee.

King-Byrne earned Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Family/Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner degrees from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Jacksonville University in Florida and her nursing degree from Helene Fuld School of Nursing in Blackwood, New Jersey.
King-Byrne will complete her Master of Health Administration/Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in May 2022.
