Lights, Life and Memories Annual Campaign Raises Over $65,000 to Support Hospice

CONCORD, NH – Granite VNA raised more than $65,000 during its annual Lights, Life and Memories campaign to support hospice care. Through community participation, more than 1,800 names were included in the online Honor Roll and over 600 names were inscribed on porcelain doves and placed on evergreen trees in service area locations as ways to remember loved ones who have died.

“We deeply appreciate the overwhelming participation and support of hospice care from our community members and businesses,” said Beth Slepian, President and CEO. “Adding a name to the Honor Roll and/or a porcelain dove is a touching tribute to a loved one who has passed. Each year, we care for hundreds of patients on hospice and their families, and community support is vital to helping us continue this important work.”

This year, Granite VNA combined hospice traditions from CRVNA and Central VNA – Hospice Lights of Life and Tree of Memories, respectively – to honor and remember those in the community who have died. Community members were invited to participate in one or both traditions by placing the name(s) of loved ones on the online Honor Roll and/or on a porcelain dove to be placed on an evergreen tree at one of the Lights, Life and Memories locations in Alton, Concord, Meredith, Wakefield, or Wolfeboro in December.

For the second consecutive year, the Community Memorial Service featuring music, readings, reflection, and remembrance was pre-recorded and viewable on the agency’s website at www.granitevna.org/lights. In December, the windows of 150 businesses throughout Concord and surrounding communities were illuminated by Lights, Life and Memories purple candles to honor the lives of those who have passed and bring awareness to hospice services.
