Nearly $76,000 Raised During Granite VNA’s Annual “Passion for Caring” Event

Granite VNA’s largest annual fundraising event, Passion for Caring, raised nearly $76,000 on Thursday evening May 7, at The Barn at Bull Meadow in Concord. All proceeds from the event directly benefit Granite VNA Hospice House.

More than 150 guests spent the evening enjoying live music, refreshments and hearing from those who have been touched by family members’ experiences with Hospice House.

“Thank you to all of this year’s attendees, sponsors, donors, and volunteers for once again making this event happen,” said Granite VNA Director of Donor Relations Melissa Howard. “Passion for Caring raises critical funds for Hospice House and allows us to provide high-quality, around-the-clock-care to patients and families in need.”

Each year at Passion for Caring, Granite VNA recognizes individuals with its Kay Sidway and Donor Recognition awards.

The Kay Sidway Award is presented annually to an individual who is devoted to educating, nurturing, and promoting the wellbeing of children and families across the 72 New Hampshire communities served by Granite VNA. Dartmouth Health Children’s Pediatrician Tessa LaFortune-Greenberg, MD, was honored with this year’s award for her 20 years of supportive and nurturing patient care. In addition to being an outstanding pediatrician, Lafortune-Greenberg is seen as a mentor, collaborator, and champion for thriving families.

Jay and Jenny Mullins of Hopkinton were honored with the Donor Recognition Award for their longstanding support and volunteerism with the agency. Jay served on Granite VNA’s board of trustees for 10 years.
