History
Over the course of 126 years, Granite VNA has continually evolved, constantly evaluating and implementing new treatments, specialties, and technology to meet the ever-changing needs of community members.
Granite VNA was founded in October 1899 as the Concord District Nursing Association by social reformer and author Lillian Carpenter Streeter and Nelson McMurphy, MD. The two were inspired by the district nursing movement that began in England in 1859 to form an agency to tend to the health needs of Concord’s most vulnerable residents.
