Granite VNA Welcomes Daniel Kaplan and Maura Weston to Board of Trustees

Granite VNA recently appointed Daniel Kaplan, Vice President of information technology (IT) at Associated Grocers of New England, and Maura Weston, J.D., of MM Weston & Associates, to its Board of Trustees. Kaplan and Weston joined the board on Tuesday, April 9, bringing diverse experience in IT, public policy and more to the agency.

“Dan and Maura bring extensive expertise in health care, government relations and higher education that will serve us well on Granite VNA’s Board,” Granite VNA President and CEO Beth Slepian said. “Granite VNA is dedicated to delivering quality health care and promoting wellness throughout the community in all stages of life, and we are fortunate to have leaders in our community who volunteer their time and expertise to support the agency in that mission.”

Kaplan brings nearly 30 years of experience in system analytics and technical support at organizations around New Hampshire. In his current position at Associated Grocers of New England, he oversees the Information and Communication Technology, Business Analyst, and Application Development departments in support of business operations. Prior to joining Associated Grocers of New England, Kaplan held IT management positions for The State of New Hampshire and Northeast Delta Dental.

“My extended family has benefited from the exceptional care that the agency’s nurses and therapists provide,” said Kaplan. “I am honored to serve on the Board and look forward to supporting the skilled and compassionate work of Granite VNA.”

Kaplan earned an MBA in Information Technology Management at Southern New Hampshire University, where he now serves as an adjunct graduate professor teaching a variety of IT Management classes. He is also the secretary of the board of directors for Spaulding Academy & Family Services, and currently resides in Concord.

Weston is an attorney in Concord practicing primarily in the area of government relations. A New Hampshire native, she began her career as a law clerk at the firm of Rath, Young and Pignatelli, eventually rising to the role of partner. She founded her firm, MM Weston & Associates, in 2006, where she works with clients to create and execute short- and long-term legislative and administrative strategies, monitor the legislative process and work with policy makers.

“I have experienced and witnessed the superb care and support offered by Granite VNA and I am honored to serve as a trustee,” said Weston.

Weston earned both bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of New Hampshire. In addition to her involvement in the political process on behalf of clients, Weston has a strong commitment to her community and volunteerism. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Bellwether Community Credit Union and was a founding member of the Northern New England ALS Association Advisory Board. She has been recognized on the Union Leader’s “Forty Under 40” list and on New Hampshire Magazine’s “It List.” She currently resides in Concord.

Granite VNA is also announcing the departure of Paul Greenan, whose leadership and service over the past 11 years on the Board has been invaluable.
