Granite VNA’s Season of Remembrance Continues Time-honored Holiday Tradition

The holidays can be difficult for individuals and families who have lost loved ones. In November, home health and hospice agency Granite VNA is introducing a new campaign that will provide an opportunity for community members to pause during a typically busy time of year to remember those who are no longer with us.

Granite VNA’s “Season of Remembrance,” is a reimagined campaign that celebrates hospice services and remembers community members who have died by placing their names on an online honor roll.

“At Granite VNA, we believe deeply in offering our community an opportunity to remember loved ones during the holiday season,” says Granite VNA Director of Donor Relations Melissa Howard, MBA. “We’re inviting the community to help us continue this important tradition of taking time to remember those we have lost.”

Through the Season of Remembrance, formerly known as “Lights, Life & Memories,” Granite VNA invites community members to submit names of those who have passed away to be inscribed on an online honor roll, viewable on granitevna.org beginning this month. Individuals remembered as part of the Season of Remembrance do not need to have been part of Granite VNA’s hospice program; they only need to hold a special place in someone’s heart.

The Season of Remembrance also encourages donations to the Granite VNA Hospice Program. Anyone donating $250 or more November 1 – December 31, will receive a special hand-blown glass keepsake ornament created by Granite VNA home care physical therapy assistant Jeff Lamy of New Boston. This custom-made piece is infused with 14k gold and created especially for the Season of Remembrance Campaign.

Season of Remembrance will incorporate the annual springtime hospice memorial service to allow bereaved community members to come together for remembrance; the date and time will be announced at a later date.
