Small Acts, Lasting Impact: Volunteer with Granite VNA

When people volunteer their time, they strengthen not only their communities but themselves. Research shows that people who volunteer 200 hours or more per year are less likely to develop high blood pressure, experience reduced stress, and report greater psychological well-being. Volunteering can boost mood, self-esteem, and even longevity. By focusing on serving others, volunteers often discover a renewed sense of purpose and fulfillment.

While healthy eating and physical activity are important to our overall wellbeing, they are only part of the equation. Human connection, purpose, and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others are just as vital. One powerful way to foster all three is through volunteering.

Volunteering with Granite VNA offers meaningful ways to connect with others at every stage of life. Whether providing companionship to patients on hospice, offering caregiver respite, supporting patients and families through pet therapy, or assisting with community outreach, volunteers play a vital role in enhancing quality of life for those we serve. These moments of connection—listening, supporting, simply being present—can have a lasting impact on both the volunteer and the individual receiving care.

Even small acts of kindness can make a difference. A friendly visit, a reassuring conversation, or an hour of caregiver respite can provide comfort and relief during challenging times. These simple gestures often leave a lasting impression and remind us how powerful giving our time can be.

By engaging in volunteer service, we can support our own well-being while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Volunteers are essential members of our care team, and there are opportunities for everyone to get involved for as much time as you want.

Our next volunteer training session begins Friday, February 6, 10 a.m.-Noon, at our Concord office, located at 30 Pillsbury Street.
